    Drew UniversityRequirements

Drew University, a Phi Beta Kappa liberal arts university, includes the College of Liberal Arts, the Drew Theological School and the Caspersen School of Graduate Studies. Drew is located on a beautiful, wooded campus in Madison, New Jersey, a thriving small town close to New York City.

It has a total enrollment of more than 2,200 students and has 143 full-time faculty members, 98% of whom hold the terminal degree in their field. The Theological and Caspersen schools offer master’s and doctoral degrees, and the College confers BA and BS degrees in 40 disciplines, and offers 61 minors, 18 Dual-Degree programs, and seven New York Semesters.

Drew’s one-of-a-kind, leading edge path to an undergraduate degree, Launch, ensures that every student graduates with a purpose, sought-after transferable skills, a network of mentors, and an experience-based résumé—guaranteed. Particularly noteworthy opportunities for undergraduates include the Charles A. Dana Research Institute for Scientists Emeriti (RISE); the Drew Summer Science Institute (DSSI); the Center for Civic Engagement; New York Semesters focusing on Communications & Media, Contemporary Art, Museums & Cultural Management, New York Theatre, Social Entrepreneurship, Wall Street, and the United Nations; and several international study abroad programs.

Drew also houses the Center on Religion, Culture & Conflict, the Center for Holocaust/Genocide Study and the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, an independent professional theater, as well as the United Methodist Archives and History Center and one of the country’s leading concentrations of materials on Willa Cather.

    Flock to The Forest:

Since our founding in 1867, generations of young seekers have found a sense of place and purpose here in The Forest. Drew began as a seminary and is now a prestigious liberal arts university with three distinct schools: The College of liberal Arts, the Theological School, and the Caspersen School of Graduate Studies. Today, 1,700 undergraduates foster a powerful community by honoring old traditions and creating new ones that link together 25,000+ Drew alumni around the world.

    Your New Home:

Our beautiful, wooded campus—called The Forest—is the perfect home base: a historic campus that offers the comforts of small-town living, the excitement of big-city adventure, and easy access to a world of opportunities.

Our hometown of Madison, New Jersey, is picture-perfect, with lots of shops, cafes, and places to hang out. It was also recently named the #1 Safest College Town in New Jersey, and #3 in the U.S., according to SafeWise. From campus, you can walk to the Madison train station, which takes you straight into the heart of midtown Manhattan in under an hour. If you’re craving more of a nature moment, that’s easy too. Head to the Poconos. Or the Catskills. Or grab your suit and hit the Jersey Shore. Of course, you might just want to stay put. Campus is humming with all kinds of events all year round, from Fern Fest to TEDxDrewUniversity.

30% of students are Drew Ranger student-athletes.

We’re all in with athletics at Drew. Drew Rangers compete in 26 NCAA Division III teams and regularly take home conference championships (61 since joining DIII in 1973).

NCAA teams include men’s baseball, basketball, cross country, fencing, golf, lacrosse, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, track & field (indoor & outdoor), and volleyball; and women’s basketball, cross country, equestrian, fencing, field hockey, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, track & field (indoor & outdoor), and volleyball.

Want to have fun in a slightly more informal setting? There are plenty of club sports (like rugby and volleyball, to name a few), plus intramurals, fitness classes, activity groups, and outdoorsy outings.

Here’s the thing about Drew: You couldn’t pick a better spot to spend four years. Gorgeous, tree-filled campus. Charming and safe small town. Less than an hour to all the opportunities of New York City and equally close to some truly amazing outdoor adventures. A full 90% of Drew students live on campus. Because from here, you can go anywhere.
