General Undergraduate requirements:
All applicants are required to meet the School’s academic and English language entry requirements.
English Language:
All applicants must be able to show that their English is of a high enough standard to successfully engage with and complete their course at SOAS.
Academic Requirements:
The degree programme pages list A level entry requirements, which vary from programme to programme. In addition to A levels, we accept a wide range of alternative UK and International qualifications. Kindly contact our admissions counsellor for more information.
Entry requirements for taught Masters:
Applicants should have a minimum good second class honours bachelors degree from a UK university, or international equivalent, in a subject appropriate to that of the programme to be followed. If an applicant does not have a bachelors degree in an appropriate field they may be required to complete a qualifying year or a one year diploma before entering the masters programme.
Relevant work experience may also be taken into consideration. Individual courses may have specific entry requirements, kindly contact our admissions counsellor for more information.
International students who are unable to meet the Academic or English requirements for post graduate studies at SOAS, should consider our specifically designed programmes at IFCELS which could help you achieve your goals.
English language requirements:
In order to ensure that SOAS students have a sufficient standard of English to study effectively, we require international students to submit evidence, during the application process, of their current level of proficiency.
