With 525 years of history the University of Aberdeen has celebrated lots of incredible milestones.

Campus:

Our campuses bring together the ancient and the modern, providing the perfect setting for research and learning.

Teaching and research is primarily based at our Old Aberdeen and Foresterhill campuses. Arts, Social Sciences, Physical Sciences and the main University library are located in Old Aberdeen. The majority of Life Sciences and Medicine is based at Foresterhill.

Strategy:

The University of Aberdeen is committed to delivering outstanding teaching and first class research, and to achieve that, we have put people at the heart of everything that we do.

Governance:

The mission, objectives and targets outlined in our Strategic Plan are approved and monitored by the governance structure of the University Court, which has corporate and legal responsibilities, and the Senatus Academicus (Senate) which is responsible for the regulation and superintendence of teaching and the promotion of research.

The General Council comprises all University graduates and certain academic staff and is empowered "to take into consideration all questions affecting the well-being and prosperity of the University, and to make representations from time to time on such questions to the University Court".

International:

We are a Scottish university that was founded with international connections and we are open to people and ideas from around the world. Whether in Aberdeen or in Qatar, we welcome students and staff from all nations.

Through outreach and the exchange of ideas, we will teach and research across borders and will provide mechanisms and support for more staff and students to have an international experience. We will continue to expand our networks and partnerships, seek new opportunities for international and intercultural exchange and offer more transnational education, enabling learning across the globe with key partners.
