Our digitally empowered staff are supported and encouraged to adopt innovation and creativity in the delivery of Education 4.0, underpinned by our bespoke digital development programme.

The wellbeing of our students is a top priority, with our Student Life approach providing a 24 hour hub of support and engagement online and in our newly opened Student Life building, which was recently awarded a RICS social impact award for 'student-centred and student-led space in which activities, information and initiatives are aimed at supporting students.'

Research and Innovation:

Aligned to our research strengths in health and social sciences, PACE - the regional observatory and Policy think-tank - empowers our staff and stakeholders to make a positive contribution to national debates, helping to shape and influence government policy.

Promoting the University's culture of creativity and collaboration, we work with our students and partners to embrace innovation, increasing knowledge exchange and partnership activity for maximum impact, and ensuring a direct benefit for the community, through the improvement of key public services, productivity and economic performance.

Through collaborative research, academic expertise and world-class facilities offered by key university assets such as the National Horizons Centre (Biosciences Centre of Excellence), the Industrial Decarbonisation & Hydrogen Innovation Centre and the Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre, we harness innovation to respond to national priorities, including the clean growth, hydrogen and carbon capture, usage and storage (CCUS) agendas.

Enterprise and Knowledge Exchange:

We work closely with industry to drive innovation and knowledge exchange to support the regeneration of the economy.

At Teesside University, we play a proactive role in supporting the regeneration of the north east economy through extensive business engagement and enterprise support. Our institutional network of facilities, experience and expertise makes an important contribution to civic society, positive social impact and a thriving regional ecosystem.

We drive innovation and knowledge exchange, and partnership working underpins our approach. We work closely with key regional stakeholders on strategy implementation, and lead on transformational initiatives founded on strong relationships with business, as well as public and third sectors, to deliver economic growth.

We are committed to ensuring that our students are equipped with the knowledge, skills and experience for future success, working closely with employers and stakeholders, and delivering a wide range of initiatives to give students the best possible start to their chosen careers. Enterprise forms a key part of this offer: engaging entrepreneurship programmes for students and an award-winning start-up programme are delivered from Launchpad, an inspirational start-up centre in our University Enterprise Zone.
